The heat today here in Athens in September is near sweltering. And that’s Athens, New York! In honor of the heat wave I’m posting a link to a piece I wrote a while back for Opera News on Sicily, Italy.

It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. My friend John and I hit all the hot spots, some of which didn’t quite make it into the article! Including Baron von Gloeden’s gravesite. More on that in a bit.
